Your Experience
Explorer Safari Drive-Through Adventure
Kick-start your wildlife adventure with the Explorer Safari drive-through experience. You will be taken through large enclosures to admire and marvel at the large, ferocious and magnificent animals as they are given space to roam and thrive. Explore in air-conditioned safari vehicles as you travel to different themed zones based on the natural homes of these amazing animals.
In the African zone, you'll see lions resting under trees, elephants playing in some water features and giraffes stretching their long necks to reach the leaves on tall trees. Keep an eye out for zebras sprinting across open spaces, to see all the essential and engaging animal behaviours, just like those in the wild.
In the Asian zone, you'll be near beautiful tigers, playful monkeys, and other animals from across that continent. Your guide is knowledgeable about the habits of the animals, their diets, and how they contribute to conserving these species in the park and the wild.
Shuttle Train Park Tour
You can also use the shuttle train, which runs throughout the park, connecting all the significant areas and allowing you to explore the park without being on your feet the whole time. The train stops at different zones where you can get off, explore and catch the next train when you're ready to go to the next zone.
Themed Village Experiences
African Village - You'll enjoy the animals native to the African continent, exhibited in environments that closely replicate their natural habitats. You'll see hippos swimming in the water features, colourful birds soaring overhead, and learn about the conservation efforts to protect these species, which are threatened in their natural habitats.
Asian Village - In the Asian village, you'll experience a variety of the many wildlife species from Asian countries, including a variety of primate species and beautiful big cats. Interactive displays along the way will educate you about the behaviours of the many animals in the villages, as well as how each species has adapted to their specific environment.
Arabian Village - Visit and meet Arabian region animals, learning about the local wildlife that has existed in this area for thousands of years. This area bridges the gap between local culture and the protection of nature's wildlife.
Al Wadi Experience - features a unique area designed to showcase the beauty of Arabian desert wildlife and highlight the importance of protecting local habitats for future generations.
Know Before You Go
Entry Requirements
- Children of all ages welcome. An adult must accompany children under the age of 12 at all times.
- Although shuttle trains provide transportation, participants are still encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Wearing sun protection, such as a hat, sunscreen, and/or sunglasses, is especially important in outdoor areas.
- Valid identification may be required for entry.
Timing and Duration
- Finding time to explore each of the zones and experiences fully may take anywhere from 4 - 6 hours.
- Generally, the park will open in the early morning with an afternoon closure.
- The park may be better experienced in the cooler parts of the day (morning or late afternoon).
- Along with being in cooler temperatures, animal activity peaks during their feeding.
What To Expect
- Participants will walk between possible trolley stops and animal viewing areas.
- During very hot weather, animals tend to be less active during the hottest part of the day.
- Educational talks or feedings occur at scheduled times.
- This will also provide opportunities for multiple photographs throughout your day.
- There are food courts and restaurants available throughout the park.
Important Rules
- Always remain in all designated areas (and follow all safety instructions).
- While other experiences may give you opportunities to feed animals, feeding animals is otherwise not allowed.
- Participants are encouraged to keep noise levels low in various animal zones to avoid disturbing the animals' activity.
- Flash photography may not be permitted in some regions of the park.
- Always follow the direction of any park staff for your safety while visiting the park.
What To Bring
- A camera is recommended to capture great nature and wildlife pictures.
- Water (from a water bottle) is safer than dehydration, and the park has regular access points with water fountains (for refilling options).
- Wear comfortable clothing for some walking for almost the entire experience.
- Most suitcases and bags are too big. A small backpack for personal items is suitable for some excursions.
- Some cash is planned to buy food and souvenirs, but how about a credit card?
Smart Tips
- If weekdays are suitable, consider visiting on weekdays to avoid crowds and experience the animals without the stress of large crowds.
- You will need to check schedules daily to determine whether it is worthwhile to manage the park to see specific feedings, times, and educational presentations.
- You may arrive earlier on exploration when animals are more active.
- At specific locations, use the shuttle train to recover between walking.
- If there is a free app map, it may have additional visuals and animal program show times.
Best Strategy For Visiting
- Morning - Explorer Safari when animals are at their most active.
- Mid-Morning - Using the shuttle train, explore the other themed villages and interactive areas.
- Afternoon - Finally sit in on an educational presentation, or manage an interactive experience.
- Late Afternoon - Possible final animal viewing, or souvenir purchasing at the gift shop.
Weather Factors
- If the heat is too oppressive, indoor areas will leave visitors feeling calm and comfortable.
- While experiencing the themed villages, or areas, may have been less enjoyable than the comfort of an indoor experience, if visiting in the 'peak' summer months.
- Animals may have felt it would be more enjoyable to remain in the shaded areas rather than the outdoor areas or animal zones.
- Also note that early morning may be the best time to provide the most comfortable visiting temperatures throughout your experience.
Perfect For
- Families with kids who love animals, people, or nature experiences.
